Carbohydrates (Carbs)



Carbohydrates (carbs) are one of the three major macronutrients found in many food and beverages. They are a common source of energy – each gram releases 4 calories of energy. Carbs are mainly obtained from plants such as grains, lentils, fruits, and vegetables. Animal-based products have very little carb.
